Trail Disruption and Closure Notifications

The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority maintains a network of trails within the City of Timmins through trail agreements with property owners. During the spring, summer and fall months, all trails are regularly monitored for hazards. During the winter months, only the Gillies Lake Promenade and Hersey Lake trails are maintained.

Our trails have a hard packed rock surface that encompasses the natural geology of the area. Some areas have steep hills, rock outcrops and bridges over waterways. Many trails are in low-lying areas and will be wet after a heavy rainfall.

Bridge to Bridge Trail

May 1, 2021—Use caution at all times! There is a substantial increase in traffic of Norman Street and Airport Road due to construction on Algonquin Blvd.

Trail access at the water pump station will be blocked on September 16, 2021 as the City of Timmins completes work in the area.
