Trail Maps

Using Our Digital Trail Maps

Our trail maps are geo-referenced, which means they show your live location on the trail using your phone’s GPS — even without cell service.

To use the maps in the field, you’ll need the free Avenza Maps app on your phone.

There are two easy ways to load our maps into the app. Choose whichever works best for you.

Before You Start

Download the Avenza Maps app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).

Make sure your phone’s location services (GPS) are turned on.

Option 1: Download the Map to Your Phone (Recommended)

This is the simplest option and works best if you want the map saved ahead of time.

  1. On this webpage, click the required map link.
  2. Download the map to your device.
  3. Open the Avenza Maps app.
  4. Tap the “+” button and select “Import a Map.”
  5. Select “From Storage Locations”.
  6. Open the downloaded map from your phone files.
  7. Your location will appear as a blue dot when you’re on the trail.

Option 2: Use the Map Link Inside the App

This option lets you open the map by pasting the link directly into the app.

  1. Copy the map URL from this webpage.
  2. Open the Avenza Maps app.
  3. Tap the “+” button.
  4. Select “Import a Map.”
  5. Select “Import From the Web”.
  6. Paste the copied link and follow the prompts to open the map.
  7. Your location will still show as a blue dot on the trail.

Good to Know

Both options open the same map and work the same way.

The map will continue to work without cell service once it’s opened.

We recommend setting up the map before heading out.
