The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority provides a variety of recreational opportunities throughout the City of Timmins through its system of Conservation Areas and Community Trails.
NEWS and Announcements
Please use caution when using the community trail system. Due to heavy rains on July 5, many of our trails have sustained washout damage. Crews are completing repairs through this week.
Timmins residents will see much needed upgrades to recreational trails this summer thanks to a $29,600 donation from Lake Shore Gold Corp. a subsidiary of Pan American Silver. See here for more details.
Check out our trail hazard reporting page. Did you see a washout on one of our trails? Or a tree blocking your way? If you notice a hazard on our trails, please take a minute to fill out the online form.
Under the enhanced public health measures implemented by the Province of Ontario our conservation area picnic benches are cordoned off. Our trails and recreation areas will remain open for people to walk through. Please do not use these open spaces for gathering with others. Wear a mask at all times where social distancing is not possible – that includes many areas of our trail system. See our COVID-19 Service Disruptions page for new information.
